The busy and monumental month for UAE ended with a bang as it celebrated its 46th National Day long weekend.
If you’re a local, resident or visitor enjoying the vibe of this young country, you’re fortunate to witness how it’s being strategically built to be the hub that caters to a cosmopolitan and dynamic crowd.
In only five weeks, the country got extremely packed with tons to offer to the local and global audience covering every lifestyle facet from music, sports, retail, recreation, trade, culture and a lot more.
I was lucky enough to soak into some of them, which made me love this country even more and realize that I made the right decision in making Dubai my current home (6 years now and still counting).
Together, let’s reminisce the eventful November before we hie-off to the next festive month.

The much anticipated and talked about museum finally opened its doors to the public last 11 November. With the vision of strengthening the cultural offering to the discerning crowd, it’s definitely a great addition to the UAE capital’s iconic slew of attractions. I’ll definitely schedule my visit in the coming weeks.
3. DUBAI AIRSHOW
Aviation geeks and travel aficionados converged at the Dubai World Central last 12 to 16 November for one of the world’s biggest airshow events. All the major players in the industry showcased their latest products and services and ‘wowed’ the public with innovations they’ll soon experience. For a sneak peak, here’s Emirates’ newest Boeing 777 First Class suite.

10. EMIRATES AIRLINE DUBAI RUGBY SEVENS
Still is and perhaps will always be the biggest weekend that unifies not only Rugby fans but everyone else in the country. The 3-day event started last 30 November at the Sevens Stadium and hosted teams and audiences from all over the world. This year, South Africa and Australia were the big winners. Indeed, it was filled with action-packed activities that are worth looking forward to year after year.
7. ED SHEERAN IN DUBAI
Last 23 November was Ed Sheeran’s second concert in Dubai at the Autism Rocks Arena. While filled with controversies as people thought that the show would’ve been canceled due to Ed’s accident, the tickets were sold out a few days after the opening sale and the venue was considered ‘dry’ (no alcoholic beverages), the concert was still a huge success. Thanks to the ultra-talented one-man show artist who writes and sings the best songs of this generation.
9. KYGO IN DUBAI
Another young and talented DJ, Kygo staged a show last 29 November at the Burj Park using the world’s tallest building as his backdrop. He provided the young crowd with a smashing set that became a great springboard to the long weekend celebration.
Whew, that was truly a hectic, yet fun month!
Well, bring it on December, UAE is ready for you.

4. ARAB FASHION WEEK
While less publicized and may still be considered a niche compared with the versions from Milan, Paris, London or New York, it’s great to see that the fashion scene is gaining ground from this region’s mainstream market. Held last 15 to 19 November in various locations, it celebrated the region’s talented and world-renowned designers. Some snippets below from Amato Couture’s show at City Walk on the opening night.
